Asia Hong Kong Life Sabbatical South Korea Travel

To travel is to live

I am leaving in 4 days, so I am in the middle of a packing insanity – aka a packing game “how to pack everything and almost nothing”. There is also a ton of things to arrange before leaving – credit cards and their limits, international driving licenses, last – minute shopping for swimsuits you managed to lose, replacing the laundry baskets, which had gone moldy etc. My mental browser has 50 tabs open all the time.

I managed to book a ticket to South Korea today, so that is definitely where I am going after Hong Kong. I also booked hostels and some of the transfers – since I am traveling solo, I want to be prepared.

Korean prices actually surprised me – I thought everything will be much more expensive – I am paying 16 € on average per night in Korea, for a female dorm with 4 beds with breakfast included.

PS: If you ever fly from Hong Kong to Korea, try to pick a Korean low-cost carrier JinAir, as ticket prices (currently) include luggage and food. Hong Kong Express charges for luggage and it is not allowed to carry your own food and drinks on board.
