Here you can read about what we had in mind for the first part of 2019 travel-wise.
But, the second part of the year is already around the corner – time really flies, especially when you’re having fun. 😊
My favourite time of the year is finally here – spring with its rainy days, which somehow remind me of Lantau Island, Hong Kong and summer with its long, warm nights, which are awesome right here, in our home-town Ljubljana. Forget the heat, we’re not really thinking about it yet.
We are soon travelling to Turkey for nine days of delicious food, bazaars, balloons, underground cities, and fancy hotels. It will be our first trip with my new favourite possession – Nikon D5600. I’ve wanted a camera like this for years, so its really a dream come true to finally have it.
Next, we’re doing a family trip to a famous tourist destination – Bovec, Slovenia. And while we’re only going for one day, I plan on using it to the maximum. We’re doing rafting on Soča river and hopefully, we manage to eat some awesome food along the way. I’ve never done rafting before so I am super excited to try it.
My next travel destination will be a weekend trip with my friend Anja – another #meuctrip. We started the tradition last year with our trip to Sicily which was accidentally also the inspiration for my very first blog post. This year we chose Cluj Napoca in Romania, mainly because of very cheap tickets, and we’re both oh so very excited about this. Taking time off for a girl’s weekend seems more and more important every year and more difficult to plan as well. On another note, I have been to Romanian seaside before, as a child with my (at the time) somewhat adventurous parents, and I have some very funny and fond memories of it, especially about eating grilled meat from a food stand the whole week and driving funny family bicycles.
Meanwhile, we’re doing a trip together again in the summer – a long weekend visiting our friends in Switzerland, which will also be a new/never been visited before destination for both of us.
Aside from that, we’re hopefully doing some weekend trips to the Croatian seaside. We both love Ljubljana in the summer and hate crowds at the seaside, so we have no longer trips planned in that period because we intend to fully enjoy the warm breeze of the city nights, concerts, festivals, cocktails and everything else summer brings to the city.
Surprisingly that means I’ll still have a lot of vacation days left after summer (well, a lot compared to the usual amount). I am still trying to choose how to use them, thinking about a windsurfing trip to the Canarias or a foodie trip to Portugal or Sicily, but nothing is set in stone yet.
😊.
