Hong Kong transport is well organized, but you still have to count in your plans that the distances between places can be quite big – as wherever else in Asia. So don’t plan to see too much stuff in one day. I find that people from Slovenia are very used to getting from one place to another very fast, which doesn’t work the same way here.
On Day 4, I decided to take it easy and wander around Kowloon a bit. If you are a big fan of shopping and have lots of money, it is the place to be. You can find all the expensive stuff here – Armani, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany’s etc.
I went to Kowloon Park, saw Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and did a bit of shopping – made a mistake of stepping into a store and we all know how it goes from there.
In the evening we went to Ophelia for a Ladies night with the guys, which incapacitated me for most of Day 5, when I finally decided it was time for some (hangover) food and had a delicious breakfast with first proper coffee in a while at R&R Bagels in Central.
Then I took the MTR to Wong Tai Sin station, where I visited the Wong Tai Sin temple and had my hand read by a fortune-teller. I definitely overpaid, since my life is apparently gonna be just too easy and great.
I walked to the relaxing and beautiful Nan Lian Garden – another oasis in the middle of skyscrapers.
I stopped for a few pics at Chi Lin Nunnery, before I headed to the chaotic and over the top Mong Kok. To be honest I haven’t felt the »cultural shock« of coming to Asia as I did on my trips to India and Thailand until I came here.
A mix of smells, sounds, people and too much of everything hit me as I stepped from the MTR station. I walked through the Ladies Market and found the Goldfish market. I had more than enough after that.
Finished my day with some fine Italian food at Sheung Wan – Il Bel Paese is Casa Rinaldi. My stomach is not handling Asia very well, so I am currently on comfort food and in bed.
