Arriving to Hong Kong

Part 1: Vienna Airport

My favorite airport…is not Vienna Airport. Maybe because the last time we were here, we were sitting on the runway in a packed airplane for 3h, as our flight from Berlin to Ljubljana got delayed due to heavy rain.

I am sitting here again and waiting for the time to pass to my boarding. It honestly feels weird traveling alone, but I managed to drop off my bags and hope to see them again in Hong Kong tomorrow.

I came here by http://www.igoline.com/ van for a change, since we usually travel with Goopti. But there is a ton of different providers on www.prevozi.org  – usually, the price is around 20€ (one-way).

Also, I am feeling a bit grumpy, because I managed to lock myself out of my Bankanet account on the second day of using it.

PS: Made a rookie mistake and didn’t bring my own food to the airport, so I am currently drinking my 6 € mango juice. Grumpy.

Part 2: A bit later somewhere above the clouds…

It is funny how food can change your mood, even if it is airplane food. I am suddenly feeling much more like the usual me, just smellier. If you get hungry and want to be served as fast as possible, order a special menu when you’re booking your flight, the crew distributes those first.

Part 3: Hong Kong

Anyways…I managed to survive the 10h flight with a few of my favorite and newly discovered favorite stuff – compression socks, kindle, headphones, aisle seat, water and an awesome combo of red wine and dramina (motion sickness pills), which knocked me out for most of the flight.

I am writing this before I take my first look around Hong Kong. The public transport here is so organized and simple, that you almost cannot get lost. Carrying my huge backpack around was a b**ch, but I’ll get used to it sooner or later, as I don’t have another choice. I also managed to spill my shower gel all over my clothes (already), so I am doing laundry on my first day – you win some, you lose some.
